How to Enroll Your School

All schools must complete the enrollment application to be considered for the program.

Rack Room Shoes reviews each enrollment application and makes the final determination based on set criteria. If a school is chosen for the program, Rack Room Shoes will connect with the school to share further instructions on how the Shoes That Fit partnership works.

School Liaisons

When a school fills out the enrollment application, they designate a school liaison and alternate liaison that will coordinate the efforts between the school and Rack Room Shoes. This can be any person who is employed by the school or district (teacher, counselor, administrator, etc.).

Frequently Asked Questions

Participating Schools

How do schools get involved in the Shoes That Fit program?

A school representative from a Title I school may complete an enrollment application here.

Who approves the school's enrollment application?

Rack Room Shoes reviews each enrollment application, contacts the school for further information and makes the final determination based on set criteria. If the school is chosen for the program, Rack Room Shoes will contact the school with instructions on how the Shoes That Fit partnership works.

Can parents contact Shoes That Fit or Rack Room Shoes and request new shoes for their children?

Because this program works exclusively through schools, we are unable to accept requests directly from parents. However, parents may contact their child's school to request that they be considered for the Shoes That Fit program.

Sponsorship Card and Funds

How are funds raised to purchase shoes for children in need?

Rack Room Shoes promotes in-store fundraising campaigns at each of our 500+ locations twice a year to collect donations for more than 600+ partner elementary, middle and high schools. Rack Room Shoes does not require schools to promote the program to raise funds.

What is a Sponsorship Card?

The Sponsorship Card is included in the Shoes That Fit school kit that each partner school receives. This card contains the funds that are raised for the school by its local Rack Room Shoes store and works like a gift card. The school liaison uses the card to purchase new shoes for students in need that are enrolled at their school.

Can school liaisons use coupons with the Sponsorship Card?

Yes. Even though 100% of proceeds that are raised in stores go directly to support the Shoes That Fit program, we accept coupons for use with the Sponsorship Card.

When are funds raised and when do selected children receive their shoes?

Rack Room Shoes raises funds for the Shoes That Fit program during the back-to-school and holiday promotional periods. The collected funds are released to schools in the fall. The school and school liaison must use all the funds by the expiration date.

What if there is remaining credit on the Sponsorship Card?

All funds provided on your Sponsorship Card must be used by the expiration date. Funds are to be used in their entirety each year. Leftover funds do not rollover to the next year.

How can a Store Manager or school liaison check the balance on a Sponsorship Card?

To view the current balance, please visit www.rackroomshoes.com, click on “Gift Cards.” From there, simply enter the card number located on the back of your Sponsorship Card.

School Liaisons and Store Managers

Who coordinates the effort between the school and Rack Room Shoes?

When a school completes the enrollment application, they designate a school liaison and alternate liaison that will coordinate the efforts between the school and the local Rack Room Shoes partner store. This can be any person who is employed by the school or district (teacher, counselor, administrator, etc.).

How are students selected?

The shoes must go to children enrolled in the partner school from low-income families or those living below the poverty level. Rack Room Shoes depends on the school staff to identify which students need the most help and the school staff supplies the necessary information to the school liaison.
